The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
